Exploring the World

One Dance Step At A Time

Checking in.
It's fun finding an account I forgot I had.

I just finished this new animation, using my webcam to take self portraits. That took a bit of doing, but now that I'm done I can go eat dinner.

You are a Goddess Belly Dancer. You may also
dabble in yoga and aura-reading. Your dance is
an expression of the goddess within. Whether
you dance to New Age, Celtic or Arabic music,
there's sure to be a veil involved. You may
share your dance with others, but it's
something you do for yourself. Goddess bless

Monthly update
Well, just when I thought I'd never have work again, my ex starting booking me events up where I used to live in San Luis Obispo. I will be up there the next two weekends doing gigs. Then I have to go back again the first week of Oct. to do at least one more event. I love going; I get to see my kids, I get to visit the town I love the most, I get to get out of from behind the Orange Curtain for a few days. But it also throws my weekly class schedule into chaos and I have to reschedule everything. I'll have some money to pay bills at least. And the weather is incredible up there this time of year. Many people go to Morro Bay in the fall and winter because of the mild weather.
I'll be taking the Amtrak again. Which means I still don't have a car. That too has it's plusses. I always get a lot of reading done, and it's grist for the mills for my novels. I'm still participating in www.bookcrossing.com, so I try to leave at least one book on the train. I'm halfway through Danielle Steel's Kaleidoscope, so if I finish it on time I can leave it on the train.
I hope the rest of you are enjoying the last days of summer.

To sew or not to sew.
How come I only feel like sewing after dark, when I'm too tired to start? I was dying to sew last night, so this morning rolls around, and I'm tired and grumpy, and I just don't feel like dealing with patterns and pins and all that stuff. But I know by 9 PM I'll be mad at myself for not sewing today. Sometimes I wish my good twin would take over for awhile.

good news
After being as broke as a church mouse for the last 3 months, suddenly yesterday I found myself in possession of $720!!! How did that happen? A gig paid me, and all my students paid me for the month. I can't get overly excited though, since over half of it will go to pay back people who helped me survive the last few months. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be able to do it again next month.

Well, I woke up this morning and was surprised to find that it's cool outside. The marine layer swooped in overnight, and the weather feels moist and fresh. I hear birds chirping.

I'm not sure what to do with myself today. I could finish the bikini top I started, before I lose track of the pieces. I could finish the Danielle Steel book I'm reading 'Mirror Image'. Guess I'll play it by ear today.
